How to add a watermark to photos online — protecting your visual content

A watermark is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect your visual work. Whether you are a photographer sharing portfolio images online, an ecommerce seller displaying product photos, or a social media creator posting original content, a watermark signals ownership and makes unauthorised use immediately obvious.

There are two main types of watermarks. Text watermarks display your name, copyright notice or website URL directly on the image. They are quick to set up and work well for consistent branding across large batches of photos. Image watermarks use your logo or signature graphic and can feel more professional and polished, especially when the logo PNG has a transparent background that lets the photo show through cleanly.

Positioning matters significantly. A corner watermark (bottom-right is most common) is visible but relatively unobtrusive. A central or tiled watermark is much harder to crop out and provides stronger protection for high-value images. Opacity is equally important — too transparent and it becomes invisible; too opaque and it distracts from the image itself. A setting between 40–70% opacity typically strikes the right balance.

Easy Press Pro applies watermarks entirely in the browser. Your photos are never sent to a server, making the process private and instant. Adjust your settings, see the live preview update in real time, and download when you're satisfied.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add my logo as a watermark?

Yes. The watermark tool supports both text watermarks and image watermarks. Upload your logo PNG (with transparent background for best results) and position it on your photo.

Will the watermark reduce image quality?

The underlying image quality is preserved. The watermark is composited onto the image at export time. Use a PNG with transparency for the cleanest overlay result.

Can I watermark multiple photos at once?

Batch watermarking allows you to apply the same watermark settings to multiple images in one session.
